Japan Kintetsu World Express To Open Distribution Centre near Beijing Intl Airport

Japanese cargo carrier Kintetsu World Express Inc will open at the beginning of March 2007 near Beijing International Airport a distribution centre to handle Japan-made commodities such as consumer electronics and office equipment for the Chinese market, it was reported on January 25, 2007.

Kintetsu World Express has already signed agreements with 26 companies, primarily Japanese makers.

The new centre will have two floors above ground and a warehousing space of 10,000 sq m, and 14 truck docks capable of handling also marine container freight. It will also provide product quality checking and packaging.

The company is currently operating a 7,000-sq m distribution centre at the southern part of Beijing International Airport which will be relocated to the future centre.

With the opening, Kintetsu World Express aims at expanding its distribution business in China prior to the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
